If you have many credit card debt, you may feel trapped. Quit borrowing is necessary, but there are correct and incorrect ways of doing so. Unfortunately, those that are proposed as rapid solutions often cause more problems than they solve.

Here are four “solutions” normal, though unfortunate, to get out of debt with credit cards:

1. Withdraw a cash advance with another card
With this solution the first thing that comes to mind is the phrase “robbing Peter to pay John.” To start, get a cash advance with a credit card is a very expensive proposal. Normally charged a fee of three percent for each payment and high interest rates that begin to run from the moment when money is withdrawn. “The cash advances are an expensive form of credit and high risk,” explains Harrine Freeman, author, speaker, columnist and CEO of Freeman Enterprises, a credit repair service and financial advice. “The cost of a cash advance with credit card can be 500 percent or more.” Do not dig a hole to fill another.

2. To request an advance on your next payroll
The “payday lenders” offer a solution to emergency situations in the short term, but not recommended as a remedy for long-term debt with credit cards. When calculated annually, the interest rate on this type of loan is astronomical. Freeman acknowledged that quick loans have their advantages: they offer the possibility of extending the time limits, no credit checks and bad checks are avoided or fines for late payments. But the benefits go up there. “You will have to repay the loan plus the applicable charges, and whether lengthening the term of the loan could be double or triple the rates charged,” says Freeman. “In addition, the interest rate can be up to one hundred percent or more on the amount borrowed and will be owed more money than when he took the loan.” Thisdoes not include the charges of credit card payment processing.

3. Withdraw funds from your pension plan 401 (k) or other retirement savings
Not a good idea, because every time you withdraw money from retirement savings associated tax benefits, it penalized twice. First, pass through the pain of having to pay a ten percent penalty for withdrawing funds before the time allowed, then you retain taxes on the amount withdrawn according to the annual rate of income tax as appropriate. For most consumers this means that only left with 65 percent of the money withdrawn. Freeman acknowledges that borrow money from the pension plan 401 (k) has some advantages, including a low interest rate and the fact that they pay interest to itself, rather than a lender. However, the disadvantages are devastating. “If you can not repay the loan on time, will also have to pay taxes and penalties on the amount borrowed, and also have to repay the loan in five years,” says Freeman. “If you lose your job, or waiver, you must pay the entire loan. When withdrawing funds from pension plan 401 (k), takes money that could generate additional returns for their retirement plan and affects, in general, its projected income .

4. Apply a second mortgage and cancel all debts
Okay, this option is not as horrible If you have some financial discipline and are willing to risk their home. There are some advantages such as lower interest rates and the ability to deduct interest payments. Moreover, second mortgages (loans acquired on the value of housing) are faster than mortgage loans, but are not the panacea of indebtedness. They often do not inform you of many costs, including the commission for granting the loan, until you have already begun the application process. Remember: your home is at risk. Too many borrowers seeking a second mortgage and then borrow more with credit cards, being in a worse situation than they were. Freeman said that the second mortgage should be a last resort. “Do not seek a second mortgage if your credit is bad, if you can not make payments on your current mortgage or are not sure of being able to make payment of the second mortgage,” Freeman advises. “If one is late fee, it will increase the interest rate. It is only a temporary solution, since it could re-borrow.” The author insists that the second mortgage should only be used to cover expenses such as roof repairs or in cases of unforeseen emergencies.

The correct way to get out of debt with credit cards
If there are many wrong ways to get out of debt with credit cards (and get other debts), what is the magic solution? The answer is not a fast track, but it is safer and more durable.

The first step is a change in behavior. “The main obstacle is to change spending habits,” says Freeman. “Just doing this will reduce their costs and settle their debts.”

Freeman recommends:
* Do not open new accounts.
* Reduce costs taking lunch to the office, traveling on public transport, wholesale purchase in stores, etc..
* Do a balance transfer unless he can pay the entire balance before the end of the initial promotion.
* Budget expenditure, over and over again.
“Develop a spending plan. Determine the total amount to be and their monthly income to see where you can reduce expenses,” suggests Freeman, who also advised to do everything possible to pay bills on time and immediately notify the creditors if it can not cancel within the period specified. If necessary, destroy all your credit cards except that used in emergencies and keep this card in a safe place to avoid the temptation to waste.

Once the bleeding financial content, it’s time to get down to work to reduce that debt. Often, a good next step is to request a credit card with zero APR interest rate for transfer balances. Consider this as a credit card consolidation loan debt and not carry. It is simply a place where you can freeze the debt without being charged interest, with the aim to start out. You must avoid using and card processing terminals as a rule of thumb.

At this point, get rid of the debt issue is to use their income to pay for it little by little, until it disappears. Eliminate debt takes time and self, but once they are rid of their shackles, it could breathe.

We are providing this web log to just clear up that matter urgently. There are really several ways to make an Aspen credit card payment; online or via post or what is known as Snail Mail. Clearly to pay on the web or online you must possess a debit card or another credit card to make the payment. To pay online you will be required to have another credit card. If you don’t want to do that and want a standing order arrangement that is also possible. You can have your monthly minimum payments deducted from your savings and/or checking account at your bank through direct deposit. This can be done by downloading this Payment Form completing it and sending it along with a voided blank check by mail to

Aspen Cardholder Services

Automatic Payment Plan Department

P.O. Box 105555

Atlanta GA 30348-5555

On the form you can actually select three options, whether to pay a fixed amount, just the minimum payment or to pay up the full balance on the card. You can also make your aspen credit card payments via telephone; though there is a small fee attached to this and payments in this manner can only be made using a checking account so you should have your checking bank account number and your banks routing number to speak to the customer service agent. Depending on where you applied for the card some merchants will be able to offer payment and make these for you. Unfortunately some of these merchants might charge you a fee as well.

Payments on your card is also available through Western Union®. NOTABLY that does not apply to some state; these are Colorado, Kansas, Florida, Massachusetts, New York, Minnesota, Oklahoma, Texas, Maine and Connecticut. You just need to call Western Union Payments at 800-325-6000 and use your Visa Card or Discover credit card and make a payment. This type of payment however will take up to 48 hours to be posted to your account so you should bear this in mind if your minimum payment is due.

A paper check can be sent using FedEx, DHL or UPS. Just enclose your check payment (with your Aspen Credit Card Number on the back of the check) to

Aspen MasterCard

C/O: Remitco

4349 Woodson Rd

Woodson-Terrace, MO 63134

So these are the ways to make your Aspen Credit Card payment easily and securely and the ways that the company recommends.

We have been told by sources at the card issuing bank, First Bank And Trust that the service will still be offered to existing card holders. First Bank And Trust does offer some very attractive alternatives that you can speak to them to have your card canceled and to reactivate using one of their more popular branded credit cards. These include the fact that both the cards, the First Bank & Trust Classic VISA Card and Classic MasterCard and the First Bank & Trust Gold VISA Card and Gold MasterCard have worldwide acceptance using the VISA and MASTERCARD logos and neither have any types of annual fees charged. This however does not mean that the standard card charges will not apply. The card issuer also has a very good rewards program earning miles for travel for each dollar spent. You can contact the Bank at Phone: 605-978-9300 or 877-793-3228. Speak to a representative there about your own case with your Aspen Credit card to get further information.

Over the last few years there has been some confusion about the Aspen Gold Credit Card Issuer and that this is a con. This is certainly not the case. The Aspen Gold Credit Card is really designed foe individuals with less than perfect credit though there are many card holders that have a very good credit score. The card is issued by First Bank and Trust out of South Dakota. In April, 2006, what was known as the First American Bank & Trust in South Dakota was purchased by Fishback Financial and the name subsequently changed to First Bank & Trust. The initial bank was incorporated in Madison, South Dakota in the late 1800’s and despite changing ownership several times throughout the years has still maintained a healthy customer base and good reputation. The bank is associated with the issuing of the Aspen Gold Credit Card and is proud to do so. The card as mentioned earlier in this post is really geared towards people with less than stellar credit scores. The card carries several notable features. These include: (please note that all dollar amounts are quoted in US currency).

APR* is 19.75% for purchases

Cash Advance APR is 25.75%.

Delinquency APR for Purchases is 25.75%.

Delinquency APR for Cash Advances is 31.75%

Annual Fee is $150 per year

Account Opening Fee is $29 (one time fee)

Monthly Maintenance Fee is $78 annualized ($6.50 per month)

Transaction Fee for Cash Advances is 5% of the advance with a $5 minimum

Late Payment Fee of $35

Over-Limit Fee of $35

There is NO minimum finance charge or transaction fee for purchases.

There are of course other clauses to the Aspen Gold Credit Card that will lead to fees and other fines. However if you keep your credit card in good order you will not have a problem and you would be able to get the credit card in good condition. There are of course several rules to using the Aspen Credit Card and any other card for that matter:

Don’t Exceed Your Limit

Pay On Time

Pay More than Your Minimum Payment

If you follow these three (3) basic rules then you won’t have any problems in maintaining good credit with the Aspen card or any other credit card. You can contact the First Bank and Trust in South Dakota for further information about the card offer at Phone at 605.978.1150 and Fax at 605.361.4342. This is an excellent card in our opinion for some one with bad credit. It helps to build credit score with an average but lower charges than many other credit cards for people with bad credit. To apply online you will need to send an email to Aspen Credit Card. They are currently not accepting any new applications at this time however you can email them with some particulars and they would be all too happy to assist you. Otherwise you can contact them TOLL FREE to APPLY: 1-888-866-6807.
